Would you pay $500 for a 2008-W Buffalo Box?
This guy did!!
I can't believe the insane prices that 2008-W Buffalo stuff is selling for. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:ITa NOTE: To all my GIM fellow members, it would be a prudent financial move to buy up all the 2008-W Buff boxes that you can, at a reasonable price. |

In FRANCE they had 24/7 400 men in secret printing their money - they times their money like we are doing now. 1789 to 1796 a bag of potatoes went from $4 to $4000 - hope you like potato soup? :23_30_104::signs14: |

Problem is that did not say BOX ONLY in title. Many eBayers don't read the rest, especially when scrolling through closing auctions.

True, but the auction did make that clear with the description and the questions. Plus anyone who would pay $500 for that box, KNOWS they aren't going to get a one ounce uncirculated 08-W Buff for $500. |

The last two bidders had 12 and 3 feedback respectively, they could have just been trying to run the price up and create a bidding war with some poor fool watching the auction...it jumped from $125 to $503, not a typical increase, even in FleaBay land!!! It would be interesting to see if any feedback is left for this down the road by Mr. l***3.

Re: Would you pay $500 for a 2008-W Buffalo Box?
I can see the importance of keeping the mint packaging intact and immaculate, especially as regards multi coin sets. I have seen a few '95-W 5- coin proof eagle sets, packaging only, go for over 100 bucks on ebay. So many of these sets have been broken up in order to get at the '95-W ASE to sell off separately or send in for grading. Which of course leaves fewer complete sets existant. They can be rebuilt by buying the packaging of course.
The '08 buffalo proof and W-unc four coin sets are tearing it up and I've commented that a potentially huge sleeper is the '08-W gold eagle 4-coiner with its comparatively tiny production at 2800 some sets and it also being subject to attrition by it being broken up for its many keys. |
